Jens „Google Plus Yoda“ Graikowski10,635Last share of the F1 circle (Part one) ...As I have completely changed my circle system and am working exclusively with my "Interaction Ladder" (http://bit.ly/VfSrjs) for incoming and my "Targeted Circles" (http://bit.ly/XSXBoR) for outgoing traffic I have decided to delete even my last themed circle, the #FormulaOne  circle.I believe that creating a #Formula1  community via a circle is impractical and cumbersome. A #GooglePlusPage  is better suited for this endeavour, so if you want to be part of a large #F1 community I recommend you try some of the pages around, like +F1 Circle (the page that belongs to this circle) or +Formula 1 Fans. I will share this circle in two parts (One of the reason that it is cumbersome. You can't share circles larger than 500) so it doesn't get lost for those who are still interested in it. I will delete it from my circles afterwards. This is part one with F1 aficionados from A to L. The M to Z part will follow in a second.Don't get me wrong! I'll keep on posting about the F1 and I'll do so publicly. You can still all read my Formula 1 posts. If you'd like to be notified of them I'll gladly add you to my Formula 1 targeted circle. Just +1 the first comment underneath this post!I hope we'll all enjoy the last race of the season 2012 and am looking forward to see you all again in 2013.And now go and share this circle all over the place, will ya!Greez,+Jens Graikowski ***************************************************************** #jgformula12012-11-22 23:02:21367418CC G+

Technical delegate Jo Bauer put forward his findings after Saturday's qualifying session, claiming that both cars are in breach of the regulations. The effect of the strange looking torque maps is that maximum power is not delivered in the mid RPM ranges suggesting that the exhaust flow is used to influence the aerodynamics. Strictly forbidden after last years 'exhaust-blown diffuser' exploit of the rules. Sanctions could range from grid penalties to exclusion of this race!find below the first F1 circle; I will share the second one in a minute2012-07-22 10:39:5350021216CC G+

Max Huijgen20,565Will Rob Smedley start driving the Ferrari himself? An F1 circle of fans!A few weeks ago I started collecting people who are real fans of F1. Now crowd sourcing has the disadvantage that there are always people who want to be in a circle no matter the subject. I have taken my time to go through comments and posts all over G+ and came up with the following hard core fans. Now I´m pretty sure there must be much more and I will gladly add you if you have a clue about the post titlle :)Now, there is already a +F1 Circle and +Jens Graikowski and +Brian Titus have been curating this. Last year +Kol Tregaskes and I made the same effort. The goal is of course to get to one circle to rule them all ;)It makes no sense at all to have fragmented circles so I checked mine against the existing ones and found 98 new names compared to the latest shard one, so that´s good news. Before I merge I want to be sure we have as many people who really love #F1 as possible and avoid taking on board too many people who just want to be in. If you already have the latest circle you can just add this one to it to win the 98 new ones. What I hope for however is that we will find even more F1 fans thanks to this post and that I can share an even larger one next time. So if you´re in it and feel others are forgotten please mention them. Oh, and if you don´t want to be notified just say so, and I make sure someone else can be on the selected list for notifications.2012-04-14 14:56:1417056622CC G+

Liberal, progressive and multicultural, Ann Arbor was an unusual place for the KKK to choose, and hundreds of people gathered to show them they were not welcome.

Went to see the Tour. Some chance. It was jam packed. Got into Holmfirth and that was it. Everything closed off, everyone standing about. Bloody French!

So I headed off up another road. Nice day. Took a lot of pics but didn't get any of the Tour.

Found a graph on my sports tracker. I find Holme Moss bizarrely huge compared to something like Haigh Hill (the last peak) which I'm forever whining on about.

The video of the descent lasts forever, so I wouldn't bother watching it, but it's there for posterity. The Tour de France is coming up it next month (coincidentally they've finally done a lovely job of the road into Holmfirth).

If you watch the video in reverse and slow it down somewhat it'll give you an idea. I could have filmed going up I suppose but my slowest mile was 18:46 so it would have been even more boring. Incidentally the record for getting up it is something like six and a half minutes. It nearly took me that to get down it.

Okay I had the brakes on a lot or I would have been flying over the moors and breaking my neck. And you do get a lot of boy racers going up and down it testing... mehr »

Finally made it. It took me just over four hours to do nearly forty miles. That's not a very good average speed, but you try lugging my blubber up an 11% gradient. And the bike's not light either!

It's been something like 22 years since I last managed it.

Went out last night and whupped my previous best time by over a minute (14.5 mph avg). The conditions were good. I put so much effort in I didn't have time to take anything in, except the odd fly here and there. Nearly choked on one just before mile twelve. That, and my chain coming off, meant I missed my target by twelve seconds.

So tonight I just went for a nice steady one and took loads of pics. I mean loads and loads.

I'm feeling really good, energy wise. My weight's up, dunno what that's about, but so are my times so I'm not too bothered.

The best thing about taking it easy is when you get to one of those hills that you normally dread and you just sail up it 'cos you've loads of spare energy.

This update seems pretty pointless btw. Have they added or improved anything?

Bit off more than I could chew. Actually I didn't bite anything off, not since last night and that was my big mistake.

When I set out on today's bike ride, on my eternal quest to conquer Holme Moss, I could tell I had no energy, I was three minutes behind my twenty minute marker, but I carried on. It was too nice a day and I'd promised myself to go that little bit further than last time.

I eventually managed it, just over four hours and just under thirty eight miles. I had to have a little lay down at the bottom of the last hill (Haigh), but when I finally got home I'd dropped six pounds. Not too bad for a day's work.

I'm gonna have to sort something out with my sports tracker app. It crashed again while taking pics. Lost 37 minutes of data. I've turned the auto back up off for now, see if that helps next time.

I've found it hard to get motivated this week. I've promised myself I'll go out Saturday to Wednesday as punishment for being lazy. Yeah right, we'll see how that works out.

It's a nice evening here, I should have stopped out longer.

The two sides of technology.

On the one hand we can blow people's arms and legs off from the safety of another country, but on the other we can replace them and give people their independence back.

I hate the first use but love the second. In this year's world cup the first kick of a ball is planned to be taken by a paraplegic. They'll get out of their wheel chair wearing robotic legs and kick a ball.

What more reward do you need than to be responsible for hearing someone say "I've fed myself for the first time in 26 years"?

When you're cycling about it's customary to acknowledge other cyclists. Dude on a racer "Aye up!" Dude on a mountain bike "Alright mate!" It's all about brotherly love. Getting on with your fellow pedal pushers. If need be we help each other out with tools and patches. But not BMXs. I look the other way.

This chippy derelict shed is at the bottom of Holme Moss. I remember, a long time ago, calling in whilst out on a ride. I was starving, much like today, but it was a big mistake. It takes all your energy from you to digest it.

No breakfast today, three hours or so on the bike. The idea is to burn extra fat. But it was torture, almost every pub I went past smelled delicious. And the emergency tenner in my saddle bag was screaming out "Spend me! Spend me!"

But I didn't give in. I remembered that chippy, and the mistake of the... mehr »

The world’s newest mineral is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before

It’s purple and pretty and composed of cube-like crystals just 0.5 mm in size.

But what really makes putnisite, the world’s newest mineral, truly unique is that nothing like it has ever been discovered before.

“Most minerals belong to a family or small group of related minerals, or if they aren’t related to other minerals they often are to a synthetic compound, but putnisite is completely unique and unrelated to anything,” said Dr. Peter Elliott, lead author of a new study detailing the discovery in Mineralogical Magazine.

It’s a rare combination of strontium, calcium, chromium, sulphur, carbon, oxygen and hydrogen that’s completely distinct from any of the other 4,000 known minerals in the world.

I've been going up Emley Moor a fair bit recently. It's a big hill for a fat old bloke like me.

It hasn't really felt that bad, although tonight, after a bag of crisps, two slices of bread, a box of Pringles and a pint of banana milkshake, it didn't feel that good either.

But anyway, what's that new Nexus camera all about. Mind of its bloody own or what.

I love seeing the rarer stuff that some folk get up to.

Apparently the next stage is to balance a golf ball between 'em. Good luck with that.

Just had a hemp burger. I didn't even know such things existed. I knew you could make paper and rope and diesel and clothes and loads of other stuff, but I didn't know you could eat it. Well, not to satisfy your hunger. I've eaten it in the past but it tended to have the reverse effect. But that was the female plant, male one's don't have the active ingredient. I think it's that way round.

Quite nice actually, I wouldn't say it had much flavour, but what does when you leather it in tomato sauce.

Anyway, I vote more hemp farms.

I came out of college and in front of me, a couple of miles away, there was a little village all lit up in the sunlight. It looked a bit strange highlighted among the green hills.

Then I turned around and thought "Which daft sod put that bloody big building there?" So I got in my car and drove up to the top of Haigh. Just wish I'd got there sooner.

#BJC2014

Had a brilliant day yesterday. Watched the hilarious #Juggling Olympics at Darton College at the 2014 British Juggling Convention.

Some of the events included, Simon Sez, Combat Hoola Hooping, Combat Unicycling, Combat Juggling, Random Prop Random Trick, Gandini Gladiators (special guest appearance by my clubs in second place!), Diabolo Skipping, Diabolo in a Box, Five and Seven Ball Endurance, Five Club Endurance, Club Balance Endurance, Coin Juggling. Dunno if I've missed any off there. Probably.

I think the coin juggler won about seventy odd quid.

After that it was a coach bus ride to see Flashpoint at Sheffield City Hall. I won't ramble on for hours with the details, but I thought it was brilliant. Emil Dahl is from another planet.

I had about a hour and half at tight rope walking today. Finally managed to get all the way across, but I don't think Niagara Falls is calling just yet.

Earlier I watched the combat #juggling qualifiers. I didn't enter, I've all on just catching 'em never mind while someone's trying to smash them out of my hands.

The fire show has been put off until eight o'clock apparently, that's in about twenty minutes, it was raining earlier. I think I'll watch that then go for some grub.

Although pizza's just turned up for Howard and Howard's nowhere to be found. Hmmm, I wonder if I can pass for a Howard...

Hahaha! You dumb arses.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Friday criticized proposals to build a European communication network to avoid emails and other data passing through the United States, warning that such rules could breach international trade laws.

Does this notify everyone in my circles? 'Cos if it does, apologies for that, just trying to publicly display this event. I don't expect you to be going :D

The 27th British Juggling Convention will be setting up base in South Yorkshire at the amazing Darton College in Barnsley.

This year there will be *six exciting days* that you can show off how incredible you are and add new powers to your arsenal. It will run from *Friday 11th to Thursday 17th April 2014*, leaving you with the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend to regenerate back at your jugglercave.

Question for the day:

(Not that I expect an answer :D)

How would Russia and Crimea go about seceding properly? And then obviously joining up with Russia.

So that the West would be happy about how it's been done.

Is there a way?

I'll tag +David Cameron in for the lulz ;)

Got up early 'cos I thought it might be nice with the mist. It was but houses were in the way of the red sun. You can just see it sitting in the tree. Made my way to the Pugneys. By then it had changed to gold. So you'll have to make do with that.
