Reading this story today was really upsetting but what's worse is that I didn't find it to be all that shocking.  Throughout my collegiate experience I have noticed how pervasive legal amphetamine-based prescription drugs have become as a common and socially accepted "study-aide".  I have witnessed students boasting with excitement about how they just got a new prescription, or others who ask for pills in library settings calmly as if it were a stick of gum.  These are young, bright and very sharp students who don't have real ADHD but seek the benefits of tunnel-like focus that accompanies amphetamine intake.  Personally, as a highly motivated engineering student, I totally understand where the temptation comes from, but the inherent dangers associated with this practice are not worth it at all.  The scary thing is that its so easy to get prescriptions to these medications thatit rei... mehr »

Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.1 Released
- Fixed some bugs that were preventing connectivity with the Nexus10
- Added some more fail-safes to the flash stock script.
- Added better inbuilt driver instructions for Windows 8.
- Updated the included Naked drivers to 1wayjonny's latest 0.72 versions.

Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6.0 Released!
- Now support for the #Nexus10 ,  #Nexus4  and the #nexus73g
- The main installer is much smaller now because the entire program is now backed by a large database of files on servers; now the toolkit only selectively downloads what it needs when it needs it.
- The toolkit will now also intelligently recognize when new file versions are available, so you will always have the latest SuperSU, CWM, TWRP, and new android releases/builds as soon as they come out, no more waiting for a whole new toolkit release!

Nexus Root Toolkit v1.6 Coming Soon - Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I am still cranking out this next release, I just have been a bit swamped with school work lately.  If all goes well I should have it finished by Saturday the latest.

And yes. v1.6 will support the #Nexus4 ,  #Nexus10 , and the new GSM/HSPA+ #Nexus7  tablets.  Official 4.2 support for all builds will be included, and some other feature improvements.

Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.5 Released - Updated the program to support all the latest Nexus builds, better driver instructions for Windows 8 users, and major enhancements to the 'Flash Stock + Unroot' script to enable end-users to flash any factory image they want with the 'auto-download, extract, and flash' feature.  Check out the updated changelog for more details.  Code revision in this release not only improve the toolkits current performance, but they also will make it much easier for me to update the toolkit to support the new Nexus devices that are coming out as soon as they become available.

Nexus Root Toolkit v1.5.4 is released - The new version is now up and ready for download.  It supports all the latest android releases for all the supported devices including the recently released 4.1.2 builds on the GSM gnex, and Nexus 7.

Please note, if you are trying to use the toolkits built in updater.  You need to make sure the toolkit is in a folder with no spaces in the path. Like "C:\NRT" - if you installed it somewhere else, just use cut and paste and then update.

Once the toolkit is in a folder with no spaces in the path.  To update:
1. Go to the help menu, and "about..." it will prompt the update.
2. The rest should be automated.
3. Enjoy!

Or you an just re-install the full version.

Thorium - a viable solution to the worlds ever growing energy demands?  I watched the full Ted Talk back in 2011 and have been reading about it more ever since; but I often wonder why it hasn't been publicized more in mainstream media nor taken the center stage in our worlds on going energy discussion.  Thorium is extraordinarily abundant naturally occurring nuclear fuel that could be realistically utilized, both safely and efficiently, to power the worlds ever increasing energy demands.  I fundamentally believe that adopting such a readily accessible and abundantly cheap energy resource would have a tremendously positive and far reaching societal impact.  Thorium could very well lead to a new era of societal growth and sustainability.

Do you have a Nexus S running Jelly Bean? - Google hasn't provided the factory image packages for those devices yet for whatever reason, but they are out via OTA and I would like to update my toolkit to support it.  If you are available to help, I would like  users to make a Nandroid and send it to me, so I can get the boot.img from those builds.  To root your device an alternate way, just use the boot into temporary CWM button in advanced utilities, and flash this zip: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

Trying out the new Office 2013 Consumer Preview - I have to be honest, my first impressions are subpar. Maybe I am missing something, but I feel like the main "innovations" aren't really innovative.  I really wanted to see some form of the pptplex office labs project to be incorporated into 2013 powerpoint, and to find out that they pretty much left it the same was a bummer.  All in all, it just looks like 2010 with a slightly slicker GUI and some in-built cloud support.  Maybe I am not getting the bigger picture, or am I failing to see its merits, but thats just how I feel on first run.  That said, at least the interface is usable and familiar.  Maybe if I think of it as Office 2010 version 2, I would like it more.  lol.  I don't know.  Have any of you tried it?  What do you think?

v1.5.2 is done and available for download - I re-scripted a majority of the code to make the entire program run smoother, improve its functionality, and to ensure its consistency.  I tried my best to further streamline processes, including an all new autodriver configuration script that I wrote. This new version natively supports 4.1.1 and its equipped with a functioning set of utilties for your Nexus devices.  I will work on getting an updated help out tomorrow, and I will also try my best to comb back through all the questions people having been asking me yesterday and today, while I was preoccupied coding this.  Enjoy! ^_^  (now finally for some zzz's....)

Version 1.5 is officially released! This version has some cool new features like automated adb/fastboot recognition, improved backup utilities, and overall code improvements.  This release fully supports Jelly Bean, and is also ready to work on any Nexus device including the #Nexus7 Tablet!

Clip-on-clip-off color coded flash drive organizers! - I will admit, maybe this is a little much and probably carry around more flash drives than most tech-people, but I am all about it!  I wanted a simple way to keep multiple thumb drives in one place but still be able to use them separately so I pieced together these little clippy string things.  What do you think?

- SDK + Files removed, now the program runs with zero initial setup, just drivers
- Driver installation is now automated using decon and pnputil
- Permanent CWM script via an automated adb shell script is working now
- Custom names for backups now allowed, user saves it themselves

- Allows users to setup adb for global use from the cmd line with one click (optional)
