Why do you need to give CircleCount.com permissions for your Google+ account?

We at CircleCount need to know if you are really the correct person which is the main reason to request a login with your Google account. After the login, we only access public data. It is possible to access this data without these permissions, but it makes it so much smoother if you give permission.

We want to make it as easy as possible for you which is the other reason for the login request. That means no registration which means no username or password.

Which information is saved by CircleCount.com?

Only public data is saved in our database which means there are no email addresses saved (unless they are posted publicly on your Google+ profile). Passwords are not known by us and therefore not stored.

Usage of the permission if you are not on CircleCount.com

If you are not using the CircleCount website, then we do not use your permission at all. The public data are nevertheless checked without using your account. For example:

1. CircleCount.com have no data about Tom
2. Tom logs into CircleCount.com giving his permission. Tom sees he has 102 followers.
3. Tom leaves CircleCount.com and tells his friend Jane who looks at Tom's profile. She also sees Tom has 102 followers.
4. The next day Jane visits Tom's profile and now sees Tom has 123 followers.

That means the data has been checked without Tom having to be on CircleCount.com.
