Here is what I'm briefly reading from the Pulpit this Sunday before my Sermon:

Father’s Day Message
June 16, 2013

Every Sunday when we come together, it is Father’s Day. We are here to worship, give honor and glory to our Heavenly Father who is in heaven. 

But, today is earthly Father’s Day - the day we honor our fathers & think about masculinity & manhood & all those good things. 

Now, I know that many of you were blessed with good fathers. But I’m also painfully aware that for many of us that wasn't the case. Some of us still have our Fathers with us, and sadly some of us don’t.

I also realize that as men, we can be lots of different kinds. If you are a man, a husband, a father, a provider, YOU are worthy of honor and today we honor you for what you do, and who you are.

Recent History of Gun Control:

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians were rounded up and slaughtered.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents were rounded up and slaughtered.

In 1935, China established gun control. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents were rounded up and slaughtered.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews and others were exterminated. 

Cambodia established gun control in 1956, and from 1975 to 1977 one million educated people were exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964, and from 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians were exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970 and from 1971 to 1979, 300,000 people were exterminated.

Christians: The REASON for yesterday's tragedy is PURE EVIL. There is no other way to articulate it. 

The ONLY SOLUTION is being transformed by Jesus Christ. 

The world, however, will search everywhere else for SOLUTIONS.

The news media, the talk show hosts and all the bloggers/pundits will look at mental health, gun control, improved school security, and everything else other than the TRUTH. Please be patient with them. They are spiritually blind and deaf, so it's all they can come up with.

Rather, YOU can pray for all those affected throughout the world by the deaths of these teachers and children in Connecticut. Their families will need our prayers and only God can bring the kind of comfort they need.

CHRISTIANS: Rejoice in the Lord that you are one of His own. Rejoice in the unchangeable fact that you have eternal life, purchased by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God has placed you and I at PRECISELY this time in our Country's history for a purpose. The darker and more uncertain the times, the brighter our countenance should shine among the lost men, women and children in our spheres of influence.

Do not forget the reason we are still here and not yet called home to Heaven--namely, to present the Gospel of Good News to those around us that are perishing. Do this today, tomorrow and the next--with your words and your actions in complete alignment. Don't be distracted by the political changes underway. Don't be distracted by the immoral laws that were passed yesterday. Don't be distracted by the worriers, the hand wringers, and the naysayers.

God moves in mysterious ways!

My business work came to a grinding halt in August.

The Sr. Pastor of our Church suddenly resigned in September.

Several weeks ago the Elders of my Church (Castle Pines Community Church) requested that I consider being the Interim Pastor.

Always trying to be obedient to the Lord's calling, I have humbly accepted this new ministry opportunity to serve. Please pray for my wife and me as we obediently serve the Lord.

God equips those He calls, and I am 'truly' banking on that promise! :)

But, I don't want to impose my beliefs on others." Seriously ... does a few hours, or days, or weeks backward truly change that statement from a "bad" thing to a "good" thing? Does human life begin at conception or not?Watch an ultrasound and tell me that non-life moves, has a heartbeat, responds to light and pain. And when that life begins, no matter it's dependence on the mother carrying him/her, should it not have rights too? Does our level of dependence remove our rights?
