Bird photography at the the ranches in South Texas is legendary in its ability to produce the highest quality bird images that you can imagine. It is the kind of photography where you end up throwing out “keepers” because you just have sooo many of them!

I feel a bit guilty asking for some help after being gone for so long, but I kind of need some help. I'm working on a gallery show and I need to narrow down the choices. It sort of an artsy show, but it is all about birds. Here are the 10 I've picked and I need to narrow it down.

Finally back home from what seemed like endless travels (mostly work) this summer! I've even started taking some images that don't have birds or beasts in them...don't worry I'm still in the wildlife game!

I found this old chevy late 40s I think (anyone know?) out in the fields on an old dairy farm. I really had fun playing with the truck and the processing.

This was the last thing that I saw on my safari...well, I mean it was the last wildlife siting on the way to the airstrip and it was a good one! The sky was blown out so I did a bit of creative processing on this guy! Enjoy!

I know this is a bit out of the box, but I thought the esteemed group of elephant fans might enjoy this video. Here is the story.

Since I was little, I've loved elephants and now that I am big and have seen wild elephants, I am no less enamored. While in Africa I've built a nice portfolio of elephants and I recently started a massive project of scanning 100% of all of the files from safaris past. I've uncovered a few gems and found a few minutes of video (hand-held so be kind) including a "fun" charging elephant. The charging elephant was not intent on doing us harm, but the guides instruction to the driver do give it some urgency! Ngiyakuthanda ngempela means do you like it in Zulu...Let me know!

My favorite elephant image of all time was a complete fluke. I had no idea what I was doing with the camera and wasn't even sure I liked it (because so much of him was cut off) until a few yrs AFTER I took it. Glad I didn't delete stuff back then!

Here is a young wolf pup that was modeling for us at my workshop last week. Even though it's a controlled photo session, geeting a wolf to slow for a second took some patience!

He's quite a looker and +Ricky L Jones has dubbed him handsome rather than cute so +Dusty Gedge can still follow me!

+Dusty Gedge was sick of cute pics. Here is a non-cute but way cool wildlife model that I have not photographed in a very long time. At 25 and 550lbs he is literally a big ol bear!

Revisited the Amur Leopard kitten. Amazing how much more confident and mobile he is after a week! If possible also cuter! It would be simply amazing to live nearby and chronicle his life... I'll just have to settle on seeing him in 6 months at my winter wildlife photography workshop. I am sure this will be THE next hot model!

A couple of images from my Baby Wildlife Photography Workshops. The wolf pups are about 8 weeks old and amazingly cute and fun to photograph.

The cat is an Amur Leopard, the most endangered big cat in the world with 20-50 left in the wild and perhaps 300 left in captivity. This one is about 5 weeks old and CUTE!
