Daria Musk3,766,357*Expand to read the story and learn how to join live!* Three years ago to the day, I stood in front of my computer - a guitar in my hands, songs in my heart, fingers trembling - about to press a button that said, "Hangout". I was still waterlogged with rainy nights of lugging my amps into tiny clubs and tears from the not-knowing-what-would-happen to my dreams. That night, when I hit "Hangout" you saved my dreams, you saved me. Your faces popped in. We sang all night. Six hours later my heart was six million times bigger and I would never be the same. Every year I want to celebrate that day. I want to thank you face to face. I want to meet back at our special place and sing your praises. It's time for Hangoutiversary III.  *PLEASE, BE CELEBRATED* So please, meet me on July 16th. Right here, inside the place where we had our virtual first date. Comment back and let me know that you're planning to come, I will organize special circles of you all, so we can rotate the 10 seats and meet and meet and meet again. I'll sing our songs of celebration. I'll sing new songs of adoration, to you and this crazy world that gives us a chance just when we think maybe it can't. Come with your hopes and your dreams to be amplified and your updates and your friends and families and fantasies. Let's sing 'til our throats go weak and dance in front of computer screens, like the silly beautiful people we know ourselves to be.   *HOW TO HANG* In case you're new or rusty all you have to do to join this Hangout is:   ✪ RSVP a big fat *yes* here. ✪ On Wednesday, July 16th come back to this page when the Hangout starts (6PM Eastern US Time). ✪ You can watch or click "join" to on my page @100974258168375166691! ✪ Don't for get to comment and let me know if you want to join and around what time. I'll be sure to circle you and invite you when you're web-camera-ready! ✪ Come with song requests, stories and even a "dream to amplify". The theme of this hangout is #amplifyyourdreams  cause that's what you guys did for me. You turnt it up to 11! *SRSLY, MESSAGE ME* Send me a private message or chat or comment to me here if you'd like to arrange a special invite or if you're new and want to join the family and need some tips for getting in. I think I'm going to make invite circles for each half hour, so let me know when you want to join. Everyone's invited. It's really the greatest possible gift, just to let me sing for you and get to know you again and again and again.  *SPREAD THE LOVE* Share this invite too. Let's grow the family. Any friend of yours is a friend of mine and deserves some showcased virtual face-to-face time. *XO, Daria* PS. *CONNECTED BY* This concert celebration is being supported by our new friends at CO-OP Connected Credit Unions. CO-OP is all about connection, just like our epic House Of Blues Concert, they've partnered up with us to make sure we stay together and keep banking on this amazing feeling we get when we connect through ethernet lines HANGOUTIVERSARY CONCERT2014-07-17 00:00:00386

NASA Goddard164,110Watch the event LIVE today at 12 pm EDT: http://youtu.be/zeaxQz8lY8U The topic of climate change inspires a lot of debate. At NASA, it has also inspired a lot of science. NASA scientists examine the Earth's climate and how it is changing – gaining knowledge through decades of satellite observations, powerful computer models and expert scientific analysis. This NASA Google+ Hangout on Mon., Sept. 30, at 12 p.m. EDT, caps a month-long campaign called Ask A Climate Scientist, #askclimate, designed to connect NASA climate scientists with the public to answer pressing questions about climate change. The Hangout takes place after the Sept. 27 release of the Summary for Policymakers report by the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, #IPCC, a summary of the international science community's consensus view of climate change science. The #NASA scientists scheduled to take part in the Hangout contributed to the current and previous IPCC's Working Group 1, which is focused on the measurement and future projections of climate change. Ask your questions about climate science and the IPCC report in the comments section here on Google+ or in the YouTube comments section during the live broadcast of the Hangout or via Twitter using #askclimate. The scientists participating in the Hangout include: • Ralph Kahn, NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md., reviewer of Chapter 7: Aerosols, IPCC Working Group 1: Physical Science Basis • Eric Rignot, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif.; and the University of California – Irvine, lead author of Chapter 4: Observations: Cryosphere, and reviewer of Chapter 13: Sea Level Change • Drew Shindell, NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, New York, N.Y., coordinating lead author of Chapter 8: Anthropogenic and Radiative Forcing, IPCC Working Group 1: Physical Science Basis; drafting author of IPCC Summary for Policymakers • Bruce Wielicki, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, Va., contributor to IPCC 2007NASA Hangout: Ask A Climate Scientist2013-09-30 18:00:00133

Engineers will simulate a failure of one of the spacecraft's three main parachutes, releasing it before Orion has landed.   Exploration Flight Test-1, an uncrewed test of the spacecraft that will send Orion 3,600 miles away from Earth, is scheduled for September 2014. Orion's parachutes are being tested to ensure they can slow the capsule for a safe landing in the Pacific Ocean as the spacecraft reenters Earth's atmosphere from deep space missions at speeds of up to 20,000 mph. Want to ask a Question? Submit questions on Google+ or Twitter in advance and during the event using the hashtag #askOrion. Before the Hangout begins, we will open a comment thread on the NASA Facebook page where questions may be posted. Reinvent832,424Here's a really hard problem that Larry Lessig is not sure how to solve: "Let's assume we've got a fundamentally corrupt government, in the precise sense that the dependence upon "funders" corrupts the intended dependence upon "the people alone," and that too many within that system are too deeply connected to it to push for its change. That means any effective movement for change has got to come from the outside. How would a grassroots movement in the Internet Age create the pressure such a change would require? How would the people who brought the Internet to scale tackle this problem?" Joining Larry in his effort is a veritable who's who of internet know-how, the folks who have built & scaled networks for change: internet pioneer Tim O'Reilly, Change.org Founder Ben Rattray, Moveon.org Executive Director Anna Galland, VC Brad Burnham, Executive Producer of TED Media June Cohen, Bram Cohen, creator of BitTorrent, and Markos Moulitsas, Founder of Daily Kos. Reinvent Money in Politics2013-07-11 20:00:00191

NASA2,841,441Having trouble watching the event? Try watching directly on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8LI5JiWEfs --------- Have you ever asked a question to someone in space? No? Well now’s your chance. In a first for the agency, NASA will host a Google+ Hangout live with the International Space Station on Feb. 22 from 10:30 a.m EST to 11:30 a.m. EST. Google+ Hangouts allow people to chat face-to-face while thousands more can tune in to watch the conversation live on Google+ or YouTube. This unique opportunity will connect you, our fans, with astronauts living and working on the orbiting laboratory 240 miles above the Earth. During the event, several video questions will be selected and answered by astronauts on the space station and on the ground. Additionally, NASA will ask real-time questions submitted by our followers on Google+, Twitter, and Facebook. Unique and original questions are more likely to be selected. You can view the Hangout live on the NASA Google+ page or the NASA Television YouTube channel to watch the astronauts answer the questions. SUBMITTING REAL-TIME QUESTIONS To ask a real-time question during the event on Google+ or Twitter, please use the hashtag #askAstro. You can also post a comment on a thread on NASA’s Facebook page that will open for questions on the morning of the event. WATCHING THE GOOGLE+ HANGOUT To join the hangout, and for updates and opportunities to participate in upcoming hangouts, visit NASA's Google+ page at http://plus.google.com/+NASA. During the hangout, astronauts Kevin Ford, Chris Hadfield and Tom Marshburn will answer questions and provide insights about life aboard the station. Station crews conduct a variety of science experiments and perform station maintenance during their six-month stay on the outpost. Their life aboard the station in near-weightlessness requires unique approaches to everyday activities such as eating, sleeping and exercising.NASA Long-Distance Google+ Hangout to Connect with Space Station2013-02-22 16:30:008308

Yifat Cohen85,473*Supporting Autism and making memories* _This Hangout is Public - please invite and share._ No more crying kids on the laps of a giant man…you can talk to Santa and ask him anything you want from the safety of your home, and have a memory to go back and watch any time you want (this *is* YouTube, after all). *IMAGINE THIS* You are 4 years old. You join a Hangout with Santa. *It's only you and him*. He's not a big giant stranger holding you tight so you tell him exactly what you want. On Christmas morning you open a personal letter from Santa referencing your private chat, and a time stamp pointing you it so you can go back, watch it again and share with your friends. *5-10 YEARS LATER* You go back and see what you asked of Santa as a little 4 years old. *And that's how memories are made.* *ALL LETTER PROCEEDS GO TO SUPPORT AUTISM* The Hangout is free, and you will leave with a great video of you and Santa. You can also purchase a personalized letter from Santa and gift an autistic child an Ipad to help him learn and communicate. *THIS HANGOUT IS PUBLIC - PLEASE INVITE AND SHARE.* We'd love to give as many kids as we can the opportunity to talk to Santa one on one and create life long memories. Here are some topics she'll cover: - the process of writing a post in the HTML editor, using a recipe as the example post - a general overview of the HTML editor's interface - how to put together a post with HTML headings, paragraphs, and unordered/ordered lists - how the HTML can be styled with a bit of very basic CSS to make the post look great Difficulty level: 3/5 (intermediate) -- This tutorial would be suitable for Blogger users who are very comfortable with the Blogger interface in general, but don't have much experience using the HTML editor. No previous HTML knowledge is necessary.Hangout on Air: Advanced Posting with Blogger's HTML Editor2012-11-27 20:00:00363

And if you are on Twitter, join the conversation with hashtag #Dodd. MPAA Chairman Chris Dodd's is giving a talk about "Creative Content and the Cloud" at the San Francisco Commonwealth Club -- and EFF's activism team will be on hand to cover the event through our live Twitter account,@EFFLive. We're going to provide a steady stream of humorous and thoughtful commentary throughout Dodd's speech, so please join us online or in San Francisco. Chris Dodd pushed hard to pass the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), a bill that would given content holders new tools to censor the Internet in the name of stopping "piracy."  Dodd has also said that he is "confident" negotiations for a SOPA revival are taking place. While it's tempting to write off that confidence as the result of watching one too many zombie movies, it should be no surprise that the MPAA is pushing for a new backroom deal. That's why EFF and other Internet freedom advocates are committed to fighting for an uncensored web. I suppose what oil spills does to the sea environment is just as devastating as what aerosols does to the air. Planet B does not exist, yo! I had to review my previous understanding of global warming because I kept asking myself questions about drought, flash floods and sea level rise. It's all confusing.

Currently, why isn't there enough fresh water in places like Syria; and what's up with dried up Northern California Rivers? Rambling away, MIT professor makes sea water drinkable via electrolysis. Yah, finally. That's some consoling news. And then, we need some process or technology to gather all the aerosols in the air. I think we should even if it sounds impossible. (Oh you mean like replacing/re-planting trees? That and the more impossible.) Plus More electronic and environment friendly vehicles.

Green everything!

Bonus points (other than being free) that I can have contribution green shit on my Github profile. Finally! IF! If I keep blogging. See, I committed Part 1 without even finishing the article. Oh just because. Keeping it fun.

Bucketlist.

Exciting news: we’re only 18 weeks away from Google I/O! 2016 is going to be a special year for us -- we held our first developer day 10 years ago at the Googleplex. To celebrate our 10th anniversary of developer gatherings, we’ll be hosting I/O in our backyard at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA from May 18th - 20th. We’ll have 3 full days together to dive deep into developer content, code labs, and more. If you can’t make it in person, you can still join us via I/O Live and through an I/O Extended event in your local community. Stay tuned to #io16 and +GoogleDevelopers in the coming weeks for more details.___Bucketlist.

Seeing it all in this scale makes me think about the nano scale. I wonder what the nano environment of alien worlds look like especially of elements not present in our world. Wish I had the slightest idea.

If you haven't seen this, here's a logarithmic scale of the entire universe, with our solar system at the center, to the CMB and plasma left over from the Big Bang at the edges. Logarithmic scales are widely used when the numbers, or stuff, you use, has a large range. It makes things easier to read, and in this case, makes it possible to see the entire universe from our solar system out to the CMB.

This image was put together by Pablo Carlos Budassi, based on data taken by researchers at Princeton University.

Now that's how you show people UI updates. Keep them rollin' or is it more about adding back. Mix of new, tweaks and rollback perhaps.

G+ Web Preview Update 12/11
Today we're rolling out several updates to our G+ preview on the Web including:

* Visible links to categories on Community pages
* Auto-play of animated GIFs (with a setting to turn on/off)
* Ability to pin posts within Collections
* Clearer indication of notifications on the home stream
* Warning to ensure you don't lose new posts when changing pages

Some of these changes were unanimously requested (people want community categories visible!). Others required us to strike an appropriate balance between opposing feedback (some people love animated GIFs, others don't!). In all cases, we really appreciate your thoughts so please keep them coming using the Send Feedback menu item.
Thanks~___Now that's how you show people UI updates. Keep them rollin' or is it more about adding back. Mix of new, tweaks and rollback perhaps.

The outcome is always terrible when we fear people different than us. This guy, obviously, has a lot of fear in him. His only option to address that fear is always through WE (white) versus THEM. He usually solves it by suggesting you round up people who doesn't look like him (you know... not white) and either transport them out or not let them in. How crazy is that? He's hardcore racist and even more so than Hitler. Give him political power and you'll find out.

Republicans: It is time that you disavow Donald Trump and assure your sane friends that you will not support him should he win the nomination. We Americans expect every Muslim to repudiate every violent act by a Muslim. Well, now we expect every Republican to repudiate bigoted, demagogic acts by this Republican.

With this and Cardboard, we're making the Star Trek communicator badge and the Holodeck into reality. 23 and me can do the Star Trek medical tricorder. Weeeeee! Engineering tricorder, anyone?

TIME magazine has a great article up today about one of the most important things we're working on at Google: the universal assistant. Simply searching for web pages isn't what people want, nowadays: they want to be able to talk into their computer (or into their phone, or simply speak into the void) and have it understand what they mean, what they want, and make it happen.

I'm extremely excited about this area: So excited, in fact, that I've made it into my day job. For the past several months, I've been focusing on this full-time, and this is what I expect to be spending the next several years on: making "ambient computing" -- computing that is seamlessly present wherever you are, so easily accessible that you barely even realize that you're interacting with a computer -- a worldwide reality.

You may not know this, but before working on Google's social products, I spent years building major chunks of our search systems and our systems infrastructure; the "universal computer" has long been a dream of mine.

I often tell people that "any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced." That's more than just a quip: the defining feature of magic is that it transforms your wish for what the world should be like into physical reality, without you having to perform any intervening steps. ("Abracadabra" is not just a nonsense word: it's Aramaic, "avra ke-davra," "may it come to pass as I have spoken." It's all about your words turning into reality.)

To achieve that, we have to go far beyond simple things like search: we have to have systems that make it easy for people to interact with and extend the assistant to do everything conceivable. That's where I'm spending my time, and I'm looking forward to being able to tell people more in the future!___With this and Cardboard, we're making the Star Trek communicator badge and the Holodeck into reality. 23 and me can do the Star Trek medical tricorder. A fascinating story. I love the history: taking risks in business, being open to the possibilities and thinking outside the box.

Play-Doh was Originally Wallpaper Cleaner ... fascinating story -- ""The story of Play-Doh began when Kutol, a Cincinnati based soap company, was about to go under in the late 1920s.  Cleo McVicker, just 21 years old, was tasked with selling off the company’s remaining assets, which at the time comprised mainly of powdered hand soap. Once that was done, the company would be too.  Cleo, however, managed to turn a nice profit in performing his task, the result of which was that the company managed to barely stay afloat.  Cleo then hired his brother, Noah, and they set about trying to make the company viable again.

This brings us to 1933 when Cleo was at a meeting with Kroger grocery store representatives when they asked him if he made wallpaper cleaner.  Wallpaper cleaner was a hot commodity as, at the time, coal was the leading way to heat one’s home, being much more efficient and cheaper than wood.  This had the negative side effect of leaving a layer of soot everywhere that was difficult to clean off of wallpaper as you couldn’t get it wet. (This was before vinyl wallpaper.)

In a bold stroke, Cleo told them he could make the wallpaper cleaner for them (even though no-one at Kutol knew how just then).  Kroger subsequently ordered 15,000 cases of wallpaper cleaner from Kutol with a $5,000 penalty (about $90,000 today) if Kutol didn’t deliver on time. This penalty was more than Kutol had available to pay if they failed. Luckily for the brothers, Noah McVicker was able to figure out how to make wallpaper cleaner using a version of a then common formula for it.

nfortunately for the brothers, though, while this provided the staple income for their company for about a decade, after WWII, sales began to dwindle with coal heat slowly being replaced by oil and gas furnaces. These furnaces obviously didn’t produce the same type of soot issue that burning coal did, so cleaning wallpaper regularly wasn’t something that was needed anymore.  Sales further dissipated shortly thereafter when vinyl wallpaper became available.  This type of wallpaper could be cleaned with nothing but soap and water, so the McVicker’s product was now virtually obsolete. ...

enter Kay Zufall in 1954, the unsung hero of Play-Doh history and the sister-in-law to Joe McVicker.  Kay was running a nursery school and needed cheap materials to have her kids make Christmas decorations.  In the process of searching for said cheap decoration materials, she read in a magazine that you could use wallpaper cleaner for this task.  Knowing the trouble her brother-in-law’s company was in, she went out and bought a bunch of Kutol’s wallpaper cleaner, to see if it would work for this application.  After not only observing that it worked, but that the kids had a blast playing with it, she called Joe and told him they needed to make their now obsolete wallpaper cleaner into a toy. Joe took a look at the Christmas ornaments made by the kids and agreed it was a great idea.  To facilitate this, they simply removed the detergent from the dough and added an almond scent and some coloring. (It was originally white.)

Joe decided to re-christen the compound which would now be a toy: “Kutol’s Rainbow Modeling Compound”.  Enter Kay Zufall to once again save the day, assuring him that this was a horrible name for their product.  She and her husband, Bob, then set about trying to think up a better one.  In the course of their discussions, Kay came up with “Play-Doh”, which they both loved and suggested the name to Joe, who also liked it.

Thanks to some connections to school board members formed from selling soap, the company initially sold their new product to schools all throughout Cincinnati.  They then began trying to market it to stores, with only a marginal amount of success locally.
While at this point it had saved the company, without money for major advertising, Play-Doh seemed to be destined for very slow growth- at least until Joe McVicker managed to talk his way into an audience with Bob Keeshan, better known as Captain Kangaroo.

He showed Keeshan the Play-Doh and explained to him that Kutol had no money for a national advertising campaign nor money to have the product put on the show.  However, if Keeshan would agree to use the product once a week on Captain Kangaroo, they’d give the Captain Kangaroo production company 2% of the sales generated, so long as he continued to show it.  The Captain agreed and Play-Doh quickly became a national hit, even appearing on other children’s shows thanks to the Captain Kangaroo exposure.

Further, even though they still sold the wallpaper compound for 34 cents per can, they were able to get $1.50 per can of Play-Doh despite the fact that the cans contained the same amount of the compound and the two products were virtually identical, save the cleaning compound was white and had a small amount of detergent added. ..."

Bonding and life lessons with daughter #1.

She and I had  to remove a drained out battery. I assigned her the task of completely removing the car battery. (Yes, we work like this in our household. Girls do stuff.)

So on the morning she's suppose to complete the challenge, I asked her if she consulted friends or any elderly guy about the battery removal, she immediately replied "Of course! I asked 'KA GOOGLE' how to do it!" I laughed so bad. Well, my Filipino friends will get it. For you, the English translation is "I asked Sage Elderly GOOGLE."

Don't worry. She successfully took it out and I put it back after the battery got charged at a nearby auto shop.

Make sure the cables don't touch any metal parts of the car during the process (Why? Because battery drains.). Wear gloves and goggles, but we didn't! Doh!

Nearby countries are experiencing Indonesia's haze problem, but, of course,  not in the massive scale Indonesian's face.  I feel for the trees and wildlife. Welcome to beautiful Southeast Asia

I lived in Singapore for two years, and I go back to work there every summer.  I love Southeast Asia.   But in 2013 there was a horrible haze from fires in nearby Sumatra.  And this year it's even worse.  It makes me want to cry, thinking about how millions of people all over this region are being choked as the rainforest burns.

This part of the world has a dry season from May to October and then a wet season.  In the dry season, Indonesian farmers slash down jungle growth, burn it, and plant crops.  That is nothing new.

But now, palm oil plantations run by big companies do this on a massive scale.  Jungles are disappearing at an astonishing rate.  Some of this is illegal, but corrupt government officials are paid to look the other way.  Whenever we buy palm oil - in soap, cookies, bread, margarine, detergents, and many other products - we become part of the problem.

This year the fires are worse.  One reason is that we're having an El Niño.  That typically means more rain in California - which we desperately need.  But it means less rain in Southeast Asia.

This summer it was very dry in Singapore.  Then, in September, the haze started.  We got used to rarely seeing the sun - only yellow-brown light filtering through the smoke.  When it stinks outside, you try to stay indoors.

When I left on September 19th, the PSI index of air pollution had risen above 200, which is 'very unhealthy'.   Singapore had offered troops to help fight the fires, but Indonesia turned down the offer, saying they could handle the situation themselves.  That was completely false: thousands of fires were burning out of control in Sumatra, Borneo and other Indonesian islands.

I believe the Indonesia government just didn't want foreign troops out their land.  Satellites could detect the many hot spots where fires were burning.  But outrageously, the government refused to say who owned those lands.

A few days after I left, the PSI index in Singapore had shot above 300, which is 'hazardous'.  But in parts of Borneo the PSI had reached 1,986.  The only name for that is hell.

By now Indonesia has accepted help from Singapore.  Thanks to changing winds, the PSI in Singapore has been slowly dropping throughout October.  In the last few days the rainy season has begun.   Each time the rain clears the air, Singaporeans can see something beautiful and almost forgotten: a blue sky.

Rain is also helping in Borneo.  But the hellish fires continue.  There have been over 100,000 individual fires - mostly in Sumatra, Borneo and Papua.  In many places, peat in the ground has caught on fire!  It's very hard to put out a peat fire.

If you care about the Earth, this is very disheartening.  These fires have been putting over 15 million tons of carbon dioxide into the air per day - more than the whole US economy!  And so far this year they've put out 1.5 billon tons of CO2.  That's more than Germany's carbon emissions for the whole year - in fact, even more than Japan.  How can we make progress on reducing carbon emissions with this going on?

For you and me, the first thing is to stop buying products with palm oil.  The problem is largely one of government corruption driven by money from palm oil plantations.  But the real heart of the problem lies in Indonesia.  Luckily Widodo, the president of this country, may be part of the solution.  But the solution will be difficult.

Widodo is Indonesia's first president with a track record of efficient local governance in running two large cities. Strong action on the haze issue could help fulfill the promise of reform that motivated Indonesian voters to put him in office in October 2014.

The president has deployed thousands of firefighters and accepted international assistance. He has ordered a moratorium on new licenses to use peat land and ordered law enforcers to prosecute people and companies who clear land by burning forests.

"It must be stopped, we mustn't allow our tropical rainforests to disappear because of monoculture plantations like oil palms," Widodo said early in his administration.

Land recently burned and planted with palm trees is now under police investigation in Kalimantan [the Indonesian part of Borneo].

The problem of Indonesia's illegal forest fires is so complex that it's very hard to say exactly who is responsible for causing it.

Indonesia's government has blamed both big palm oil companies and small freeholders. Poynton [executive director of the Forest Trust] says the culprits are often mid-sized companies with strong ties to local politicians. He describes them as lawless middlemen who pay local farmers to burn forests and plant oil palms, often on other companies' concessions.

"There are these sort of low-level, Mafioso-type guys that basically say, 'You get in there and clear the land, and I'll then finance you to establish a palm oil plantation,'" he says.

The problem is exacerbated by ingrained government corruption, in which politicians grant land use permits for forests and peat lands to agribusiness in exchange for financial and political support.

"The disaster is not in the fires," says independent Jakarta-based commentator Wimar Witoelar. "It's in the way that past Indonesian governments have colluded with big palm oil businesses to make the peat lands a recipe for disaster."

The quote is from here:

• Anthony Kuhn, As Indonesia's annual fires rage, plenty of blame but no responsibility, http://www.npr.org/sections/parallels/2015/11/01/453141693/as-indonesias-annual-fires-rage-plenty-of-blame-but-no-responsibility

For how to avoid using palm oil, see:

• Lael Goodman, How many products with palm oil do I use in a day?, http://blog.ucsusa.org/how-many-products-with-palm-oil-do-i-use-in-a-day

First, avoid processed foods.  That's smart for other reasons too.

Second, avoid stuff that contains stearic acid, sodium palmitate, cetyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate - various forms of artificial grease that are often made from palm oil.   It takes work to avoid all this stuff, but at least be aware of it.  These chemicals are not made in laboratories from pure carbon, hydrogen and oxygen!  The raw ingredients often come from palm plantations, huge nasty monocultures that are replacing the wonderful diversity of rainforest life.___Nearby countries are experiencing Indonesia's haze problem, but, of course,  not in the massive scale Indonesian's face.  I feel for the trees and wildlife.
